Driving pleasure is highly over-rated!

People who absolutely love driving, must either have a lot of time at their disposal or must be insanely motivated by anything that is preceded by the term -auto! I was just calculatng the other day. I spend almost 3 hours a day travelling to and from my place of work. To that add 30 mins , which is the time I spend recuperating! At this rate I spend almost a thousand hours every year driving. What a shear waste of time, when I could have been productively occupied! Driving is one activity that takes your complete attention. You cannot read while driving, you cannot write while driving, and unless you want the NJ cops at your back, you cannot talk while driving! Yes you can listen! So I have my FM radio full blast. I hear my favourite songs repeated again and again and again! But hey it still is a drain on productivity!

The above was the argument that I gave my wife, so that I may buy myself an IPOD! I have recently got into this blogs and podcast mode. While I am on my computer I do not have much time to listen to the various podcasts that I have now subscribed to.  So I bought my IPOD Nano (1 GB , cause I could not justify to the wife the need for any more that that ) Today was my first day driving with the IPOD hooked on to some podcasts from fuzzyblog, and guess what? Driving did seem like a pleasure. Thanks to Scott Johnson, I may finally have found a way to overcome the ‘driving blues’ !!

 By the way you guessed right. All financial decisions of mine are made in ‘conjuction’ with the wife!
