I'm also on Symfony recently (day 7 of the mighty askeet tutorial) and It's really THE framework I was waiting for.
Symfony can run without PEAR, <a href="http://www.symfony-project.com/trac/wiki/InstallingSymfonyWithoutPear" title="Installing Symfony without PEAR" rel="nofollow">have a look that page on the Wiki</a>.
Why does it need ssh connection ? I don't think so ... You mean for automatic deployement from dev server to prod server ? (If so you could do it the old way ;)Hi,
