Thank you pro::php podcast, and Marcus! The panel discussion with proponents of symfony/zend/ezcomponents/pear was fantastic! I think I know exactly the path that I need to take! It is going to be symfony, using the bridge to hook onto zend and ezcomponments. Pear is still mainly php4, so will go to it only if there is something that is not available any where else!
