Thanks for coming, joining and productively participating in your function’s future and prosperity.

This is a brief missive summarizing the decisions we made at the meeting.

Dedicated volunteer for each event:

We will get the volunteers each year for two annual functions, the summer picnic & the Dewali function and they in turn will have their support team. The existing team will be available for any suggestions, advice, help to this dedicated team, as and when required.

Dine & Learn sessions:

It was agreed that we will hold these “Dine and Learn” sessions, as detailed in the agenda of the meeting. The frequency will be once in three months (four times a year) on subjects of common interests to the community members. The sessions will be held at a volunteer’s house. The day preferred by the majority is Saturday evening. Each person will pay $5 to attend the session out of which $4 will be earmarked for the Mathur association and $1 for a charity to be agreed upon at a later date.

The simple dinner will be coordinated by the host, prepared and brought by some of the members; like we do in our meetings.

It was decided that Rahul Srivastava/ Ruchi Srivastava (Mathur) will be the prime coordinator for this new effort and they will be supported by other volunteer members including, but not limited to Rahul Raizada, Arvind Mathur and Bob Mathur.

Philanthropy activities:

Arvind talked about the possibilities of participating in charity runs to support a good cause like breast cancer, Parkinson’s Disease or a cause that is close to our community.

Based on past experience, it was decided that Vince & Devika will spearhead this event.

Some of potential concepts discussed are:

•School supplies for needy children: Vince & Devika

•Clothing drive for disadvantaged communities: Vince & Devika

•Participating in a good cause run in NY/NJ: Utkarsh & Ruchita

•Volunteer for 3rd Saturday lunch service in a soup kitchen: Bob & Preeti

For the last activity, Rahul & Parul, Nitin & Kaajal and Bob & Preeti have already volunteered. It was encouraged that individual members can also find similar soup kitchen activities in their local areas and can support this cause locally.

General Activities:

Dinesh & Pushpa volunteered to coordinate a social event for a table tennis and a carom tournament.

The meeting finished with a vote of thanks, appreciation and gratitude to Arvind and Geeta who had volunteered to have this meeting at their house.

We would like to once again welcome and felicitate the younger group who have joined the volunteers and are demonstrating enthusiasm, commitment and sincerity towards the common goal of the betterment of the Mathur Association.
